We present the BENNINGTON Bergere armchair, in BLACK color with wooden legs in a natural shade. The lining of the back has been made with a quilting technique that gives a special beauty to the bergere in combination, of course, with the velvet that is the fabric of the lining.

Mini Story: The story of the Bergere (see bergere) begins somewhere in 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the time of Louis XV, where it was considered the seat of the nobles and the upper class. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the time, gave it the feeling of a throne. From its early years it was considered the “queen” of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back and turned sides, and for its dominance of the space as a decorative element. The Bergere armchair changed its appearance over the years (depending on the season and fashion). Dressed in floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with various textures, even Chesterfield. Although over the years we have seen variations of the bergere design, like dressed arms, higher backrests, bigger cushions, the basic idea of the large, comfortable armchair has never changed. A big comfortable armchair is often better than a whole sofa.

Info: Quilting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the seams form various patterns and folds or bumps. In quilting, the fabric is like an "inflatable" that is held by the seams which "sink" the fabric. So, many small puffy bumps are created in the quilting that stand out from each other by the seams. These bumps can be diamonds, squares, stripes, as well as many other designs. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating different patterns on the fabric. This improves the overall image of the object. It gives a sense of luxury and detail in the design.

But it's not just the color and the quilting that make this bergere stand out. The legs are high, and just above the legs there is a wooden bezel that runs the whole length of the bergere, in a natural wood color, creating a beautiful two-tone with the BLACK of the upholstery.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
The frame of the armchair as well as the decorative wooden bezel and the legs are made of solid wood. When we refer to solid wood, we mean wood made entirely from the trunk of a tree. Solid wood is the most expensive choice in terms of wood but stands out for its durability.

The "fillings" of the armchair, both on the backrest and on the seat, are made of medium hardness foam materials that offer premium body support.

The whole armchair is upholstered in high quality velvet fabric giving an attractive look and a sophisticated charm to the decoration of your living room. Velvet is the fabric that cannot leave anyone unmoved! Whether it covers small or large surfaces, it cannot help but make its presence felt in the space and attract attention. Velvet is a fabric that was particularly loved by kings and emperors of past centuries, thus becoming synonymous with luxury and glamour. It has flooded the windows of the biggest stores and is one of the most favorite choices of the most famous decorators worldwide. It is a soft, relaxed, delightful, and elegant fabric that is impossible to resist. The positive thing is that it can be easily harmonized with any type of decoration, giving the space refinement and elegance.

Mini Story: The reason that velvet used to be an object only for the eyes of kings and emperors, was the fact that it was made mainly from silk fibers and in fact with a very special treatment, which required a lot of time and a special loom. Fortunately, today things have changed, and this wonderful fabric is affordable for everyone.

MAINTENANCE:
To keep the velvet clean and fluffy, it's a good idea to vacuum it once a week. Attach a soft brush, set the mild program on your vacuum, and sweep the entire surface in the direction of the grain. You will see that immediately the dust will be removed, and the pile of fabric will be like new.
In no case should you rub a velvet fabric. Even if you must remove a stain, don't scrub it. Moisten a soft cloth with water and dab locally on the stain.
An ideal choice for cleaning velvet is also leather (that is, the cloths with which we dry the car).
